Witch Hazel Awarded Best Canadian Comic Book by Sequential Magazine

The Sequential Magazine Awards, originating in 2017, are fan voted awards organized by Sequential Magazine to allow Canadian comic fans to show their appreciation for their favourite indie comics and creators as well as discover more great Canadian made comics.  In December Sequential held an open nomination period and through those suggestions selected a final set of nominees in each category with Witch Hazel by Colton Fox and Beige Blum being nominated as Best Canadian Comic. Sequential then opened their website up to public voting to determine the winners for each category.

Colton Fox and Beige Blum then set out on a guerilla marketing campaign. They posted voting flyers across Kingston, Hamilton and Toronto.

In March of 2023 Sequential Magazine announced its winners and that they had a record high voter turnout.

Witch Hazel was awarded Best Canadian Comic of 2022 and Jessica Huynh was awarded Best Colourist for her work on Witch Hazel.  Strange Adventures Comics & Curiosities in Halifax produced amazing plaques that Colton and Beige are proud to own.
