ANNOUNCEMENT: OAC GRANT FOR NEW WITCH HAZEL COMIC

WITCH HAZEL AWARDED GRANT FROM THE OAC

Colton Fox would like to thank the Ontario Arts Council and Ontario Government for their support in bringing to life a new Toronto themed issue of Witch Hazel.

With this support, Colton Fox and Beige Blum will be creating a brand issue of their series Witch Hazel that will be a celebration of artists with particular attention to the Toronto community of creators that helped guide and shape Colton’s creative journey. This new issue of Witch Hazel will be debuting at the Toronto Comics Art Festival (TCAF) on May 11th, which is fitting as TCAF endorsed Colton Fox for this grant through the Recommender Program. If that wasn’t appropriate enough, TCAF will also be the setting of this new issue of Witch Hazel as well.

For those unable to attend TCAF on May 11-12th, this new issue of Witch Hazel will be available at The Beguiling in Toronto.

It will also be be available through Silver Sprocket at their online storefront Here

The OAC is an agency of the Ontario Government. Recommenders are organizations authorized by OAC to receive applications, review them and make grant recommendations. OAC allocates a budget to each of the participating recommenders. Recommender grants are outright grants to artists from OAC and cannot be represented as any form of payment to or from the recommender, or to or from any member or director thereof.

For 60 years, the Ontario Arts Council (OAC) has played a vital role in promoting and assisting the development of the arts for the enjoyment and benefit of Ontarians. In 2022-2023, OAC invested $57.1 million in 224 communities across Ontario through 2,344 grants to individual artists and 1,042 grants to organizations.
